Meditation is simple and powerful and has changed our lives. What if we all learned this practice from a young age? What if this were a daily practice in schools? This is our mission!

After the great success of more than 20 previous face-to-face editions in Lisbon, Algarve, Porto, Madeira and Azores, it is with great joy that we announce our next face-to-face training, this time in Almada, at the Shanti Yoga for All space, (15 min from the center of Lisbon).

The training will be divided into two moments. The 1st part (morning) being an introduction to meditation so that participants can understand the essence of meditation, experience and practice different techniques, and the 2nd part (afternoon), how to take meditation to
children and teenagers.

The training will be provided by Patrícia Herdeiro and Joana Magno, trainers of “O
Little Buddha” and who have been working in this area for several years.

Who is it for?

– For all those who want to guide meditations with children from 5 years old to teenagers.
– Educational agents, from teachers, educators, psychologists, therapists, mothers, fathers, etc.
– Anyone who is interested in this area and wants to bring this knowledge to their professional practice, personal or family life

Program:

This training will be divided into two parts:

Part 1: Introduction to Meditation
Saturday, 16 September ~ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (with lunch break from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm)

In this first part we will cover the basic principles of meditation, as true experience, understanding and personal practice are essential to teach younger people. We will teach what meditation is in essence and different techniques for participants to feel the effects and which modality they most identify with.
We also intend to demystify meditation, that is, to make it clear that meditation is a holistic practice, intrinsic to the human being and that does not have to be linked to any religion.

2nd Part – Meditation for Children and Adolescents
Sunday, March 10 ~ 9am-1pm (with 15 min break)
After we have understood and felt meditation, in this second part we will delve into meditation for the youngest.
We will share the different types of meditation, depending on the age of the child. Different techniques will be taught and we will put them into practice!
We will also explain how “Little Buddha” works so that you can insert the program into your school or work area.
At the end of the day we will have a circle to share and clarify doubts and afterwards a diploma signed by the trainers will be sent home.

– How to adapt techniques to age and level of development
– How to explain what meditation is to children and young people;
– How to motivate people to practice;
– General principles common to all meditation exercises (posture, place, time, process, transversal instructions to all exercises);
– Exercises with Conscious Breathing
– Mindfulness techniques;
– Relaxation meditations;
– Visualization meditations;
– Challenges when implementing these practices with children and young people and how to overcome them;

Patricia Herdeiro

Patricia Heir

Coming from Lisbon, she is an eternal explorer of life and it was at the age of 17 that she discovered Yoga and Meditation and awakened to Spirituality.
She graduated in Psychology from the University of Lisbon and is an Educational Action Technician. Her love for children and human development has led her through different educational projects over the last 9 years.

She teaches meditation and emotional education and has been part of the “O Pequeno Buda” project since 2019 as a “Meditation for Children” trainer. That same year he participated in his first Vipassana course and retreat – 10 days of silent meditation.

He is a Reiki therapist, Quantum Being – Emotional Listening and Inner Child Healing,
facilitator of Women’s Circles, Personal Development and Creative Expression Workshops and “Work That Reconnects”, a personal and collective transformation program based on Deep Ecology.

In 2020 he launched the book “Colorir a Alma”, with drawings to color, poems and space to create and his theater “A Guardiã de Sementes”. He feels a great connection with Water, he was part of the organization of “Ser Água”, a meeting dedicated to Water Awareness and in 2023 he led the “March for Water” in Lisbon on International Water Day.

Joana Magno

Joana Magno

Born on 03/16/1980 in Portugal, she is a 1st Cycle Teacher, postgraduate in Conflict Mediation in a School Context and Facilitator of Conscious Development of children and young people through the daily practice of meditation in schools. He has already done several retreats, including the 10-day Vipassana Meditation in silence. She is a seeker and therefore
has several training courses, including Conscious Communication, Conscious Parenting, Neurolinguistic Programming applied to teaching and learning and the Leadership and Emotional Intelligence Program based on Mindfulness and developed by Google.

He seeks to accept each situation exactly as it is, uncomplicating what may initially seem complicated and awakening possibilities in the people, adults and children who cross his path. Follow your heart and guide your life by integrating the principles of Mindfulness daily, living to the fullest in the present moment with curiosity and without
judgment. From silence, she has learned to stop, listen and slow down the pace of life, which has enabled her to gain better self-knowledge, which also extends to greater understanding and understanding of those around her.
